  • U1-snRNA-as-CNAG_12993-XR.001046230

  • Traces from siRNA libraries for H99 [Burke-2019], JEC21 [GSE178393] and RNA-Seq libraries [Wallace-2020] show expression of the ncRNA. Signals for specific and unspecific siRNA samples are shown.

  • The very abundant CNAG_12993 seems hard to remove with RNAseH-based methods [Telzrow-2021].

  • Fits Rfam family U1 spliceosomal RNA (RF00003) with respect to conserved primary structure elements and predicted secondary structure (with highly conserved nucleotides in red).

  • The penultimate stemloop has a highly conserved base and a loop identical to that of the last stem that is essential for splicing [Sharma-2014].

  • The conserved 5’ single stranded region base-pairs to the 5’ splice site of pre-mRNA, GTRrGT in Cryptococcus [Janbon-2014].

  • The conserved single stranded section upstream the final stemloop provides the Sm-site, common to snRNAs for the association of Sm-proteins.
